Life

Life as we know it has changed once again. We lost someone very precious to us, and the sting will linger on for a long time to come. She lived a long life...some say on borrowed time. She's had her bouts with medical issues, and pulled on through. She was one of the strongest people I know, and admire her for it.

There are people in your life that make lasting impressions. They shape you into the person you are. Parents do this everyday of their lives, and we owe them for it. We pay them back in love.

Rest in peace Irma Jean Larson. A day won't pass that I won't think of you.
I Love you Mom!

Saving for Vacations

You want to take a vacation, but where will you get the money? You could just put the whole trip on the credit card and worry about it later. ~Alas…there is another option! How about starting a Vacation account?

Much like a ‘holiday or Christmas’ bank account…a Vacation account is a great way to get started saving for your trip. Many banks and Credit Unions offer them, and you can contribute to them by payroll deductions.
The last thing you want to do while on vacation is to worry about how you’re going to pay when the bills come due. A Vacation account is a great way to eliminate this worry, and set you toward a debt free vacation.

The first two steps toward making a vacation affordable are to:

save for it — months before you go
determine how much to spend

Putting away the money before you leave means less financial pain after the trip. The prospect of not having to endure high credit card bills at vacation time is the main reason for saving money in a vacation club account. It’s also a good way to put away money to surprise a spouse with a romantic getaway.

Why would someone open a vacation account instead of just setting aside the money elsewhere?

Discipline.

People always have good intentions to save money. When they see that balance inching upward and find something they want, (like a big-screen TV) they’re more apt to withdraw the money to buy it. But, money set aside in a Vacation club account seems less touchable.

Figuring out how much to save from each paycheck in a vacation club account is like determining how much to sock away for a down payment or other large purchase:

Estimate how much the vacation will cost
Subtract how much of the vacation expense you want to charge on your credit cards

The difference is how much cash you’ll need for your trip. Divide that amount by the number of paychecks you’ll receive before you go on vacation. That is how much you need to save per paycheck. You can set a realistic savings goal for a vacation only after you know where you’re going and what you’re going to do.

You can save a lot of money during the planning process by starting early and shopping around. Many cruise lines and resorts offer ‘Early Booking Discounts’, so get the ball rolling early. The ‘early bird’ really does get the worm when it comes to vacation planning. Huge discounts along with reserving the accommodations you need or desire depend on it. Early planning means more time to save as well.

Many Travel Agents will follow your price paid, and get you a discount if the prices go down after your deposit is paid. You will also get an early jump on tours, excursions, hotel and airline reservations. Contact pete@jollymonvacations.com to for free consultation and realistic estimate of the vacation you deserve!

In summary, you can take the vacation of your dreams and not go into deep into debt if you plan ahead. Less time stressing, means more time enjoying yourself and quality time with your spouse and family is worth it. Don’t delay any longer, get started today! http://www.jollymonvacations.com/

Ski Montana 2010!

We are back from SKI MONTANA 2010!

The trip was amazing! Western Montana is so beautiful...I want to live there forever!

Here's a review:
I booked this trip for myself, and my friend Clint from Georgia through my travel agency, Jolly Mon Vacations. We got a great lift ticket/lodging deal for 4 nights hotel, and 4 days lift tickets.
I drove in, and picked up my friend at the Billings, MT airport...which was right on the way.

The hotel:
C'mon Inn, Bozeman, Montana.

A great new hotel just off the interstate, and only 15 miles from beautiful Bridger Bowl Ski Area. A nice, clean new hotel with a beautiful atrium, pool and a bunch of hot tubs. A nice hot continental breakfast was included, and the staff was very accomodating as well.
This hotel is well located as a "home base" for our ski adventures, as it's a couple turns off the main interstate.
The beds are VERY comfortable, there was a flat panel tv, refridgerator, coffee maker, and a door leading out to the atrium with a table and chairs. A very clean, well maintained room.

The Ski Resort:

Bridger Bowl Ski Area.

What can I say....awesome! We hadn't been to the area in a few years, and Bridger gave us a great package deal with lift tickets and lodging. Upon checking in, they assigned us a mountain HOST when we arrived. Bob took us all over the mountain showing us new areas, and areas of future expansion. He is a gracious 74 year old man, that could ski circles around us! Thanks Bob! Rest assured not only will WE be back, I'll be steering my clients to your mountain facilities as well!

Bridger Bowl has some new 'Magic Carpets' installed on two of the lifts. These moving carpets make getting on the chair lifts much easier. It's a really nice addition. There is also a new lift up to The Ridge, accessing all the expert terrian. Less hiking for the daredevils!

Overall, it was a great trip. Great to see my old ski buddy again, and great to be back in Montana! Two thumbs WAY up. Call me, and I'll set you up with a great package deal at Bridger Bowl, Montana! http://www.jollymonvacations.com/

Wave Season equals cruise sales!

In the travel industry, Wave Season is the period between January and March when cruise lines and travel agents offer bonuses and extra perks to book. Historically, this has been the time when people start planning their vacations for the coming year.

These aren't the only deals to be had, but here are a couple deals worth mentioning. More cruise lines will roll out specials in the coming weeks:

Princess Cruises:

Is offering two Wave Season deals. Free upgrades from outside to balcony cabins on sailings to Alaska, the Caribbean and Europe, and it's slashing fares on select Alaska cruisetours by 25 %.

Viking River Cruises:

If you book a 2010 river cruise to Europe, Russia, China or Egypt by March 1, 2010, Viking is offering 2 for 1 airfare discounts and complimentary wine with dinner.

Norwegian Cruise Line:

NCL has launched its "Year of the Freestyle Vacation" promotion, and is offering free stateroom upgrades and coupon books worth up to $400 in onboard savings, when you book by March 14, 2010.
